Easiest Way to Host a Minecraft Server (Mac)
A quick macOS path to a working server using SquidServers, with simple performance tips.
Looking for the shortest macOS setup? In this guide you will learn a clear route from install to invite using SquidServers.
Install and open SquidServers
Download the macOS build of SquidServers from the downloads page. Open it. If macOS prompts you on first open, allow the app to run. Install Java if you do not have it yet.
Create your server
Choose your server type. Create or import a world. Set RAM with the Memory Allocation slider. Name your server and pick a save folder.
Launch and invite
Launch the server and share the join link. You can host and play on the same Mac. Close heavy apps while hosting and lower simulation distance if the world feels busy.
